About the event
Sign up for the Jersey Shore Swing's week intro course on the Lindy Charleston. Charleston was a precursor to, and remains, an integral part of Lindy Hop. This course is intended for new dancers, experienced dancers who are new to Lindy Hop and experienced Lindy Hoppers who wish to focus on fundamentals.
PARTNER IS NOT NECESSARY
THIS CLASS IS A PREREQUISITE TO LEVEL 2 CLASSES, REGARDLESS OF EXPERIENCE.
Session 1 - Charleston Basics
The first session introduces the Lindy Charleston rhythms and footwork that can been done solo or with a partner.
Session 2 - Hand to Hand
This session will explore explore how to seamlessly enter and exit hand-to-hand and airplane Charleston.
Session 3 - Tandem Charleston
We will learn the chase entrance in the Tandem Charleston and variations.
Session 4 -
We will learn Charleston rhythm for tuck turns that send us down-the-line and opens the door for fun variations.
What to Expect
It is not necessary to bring a partner.
Wear comfortable low heeled, non-scuff shoes; preferably sneakers.
Don’t forget your water bottle!
